CHARLIE LUXON'S SHOCKING CRIMES IN PLYMOUTH: SEX OFFENDER'S VIOLENT OUTBURST AT POLICE OFFICERS
In November 2020, a disturbing incident unfolded in Plymouth involving Charlie Luxon, a man with a long and troubling criminal history.Luxon, aged 48, who is known to have a dark past as a convicted sex offender, was involved in a violent confrontation with police officers, culminating in him throwing a cup of tea at one of the officers.
This act of aggression was part of a series of misconduct that led to his imprisonment.
Luxon’s criminal record is extensive.
He was previously sentenced to ten years in prison in 2006 after being convicted of multiple serious sexual offenses, including three counts of rape and one count of sexual assault against an 11-year-old girl.
During his trial, Luxon chose not to testify, refusing to give evidence to the jury because the judge would not permit him to hide behind screens.
His criminal activities have since accumulated, with authorities estimating that he has committed over 100 crimes, primarily involving violence, dishonesty, or driving offenses.
In the latest incident, Luxon was residing in Plymouth after moving in with a woman he met through a dating website.
This move took place in July, and he was living in supported accommodation.
However, he failed to inform the police of his new address, which was a direct violation of the conditions set by his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
Additionally, he did not disclose his relationship to the authorities, breaching the court’s orders designed to monitor and control his behavior as a registered sex offender.
On September 14, police responded to a call at the couple’s residence.
Upon arrival, they encountered Luxon displaying aggressive and violent behavior.
During the confrontation, Luxon threw a cup of tea at one of the officers, an act that demonstrated his blatant disregard for law enforcement.
The situation escalated further when Luxon threw punches at police officers at Charles Cross, a well-known area in Plymouth.
During this altercation, he also struck a detention officer, knocking off his glasses, although the officer was not injured in the incident.
Luxon’s actions resulted in his being charged with multiple offenses.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of assaulting an emergency worker and admitted to breaching the terms of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order, as well as failing to comply with his notification requirements as a registered sex offender.
His court appearance was held at Plymouth Crown Court, where Judge William Mousley sentenced him to 21 months in prison.
The judge also imposed a three-year restraining order, forbidding Luxon from contacting the woman he was living with or approaching her residence.
Luxon’s case highlights the ongoing challenges faced by authorities in managing individuals with a history of sexual offenses and violent behavior.
His repeated breaches of court orders and his violent conduct towards police officers underscore the importance of strict monitoring and enforcement to protect the community from potential harm.
