CHARLES PEYMAN FROM HULL AND PENRITH SENTENCED FOR SEX OFFENCES AGAINST SCHOOLGIRL

In October 2016, a man named Charles Peyman was sentenced to nearly seven years in prison after being found guilty of multiple sexual offences committed against a young schoolgirl.

The crimes took place over several months in the Penrith area, located within the Eden Valley, and the case drew significant attention from local authorities and the community.

Charles Peyman, aged 32 at the time, had recently relocated from Humberside to the Eden Valley to pursue employment opportunities.

It was during this period that he engaged in a series of disturbing and illegal acts against a vulnerable victim.

The court proceedings revealed that Peyman’s criminal conduct was both prolonged and deeply troubling, leaving the young girl distressed, with ongoing sleep disturbances, anxiety, and flashbacks that affected her daily life.

The case was brought before Carlisle Crown Court, where Peyman’s guilty plea to eight separate charges was accepted.

These charges included seven counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child and one count of inciting a child to participate in sexual acts.

The court heard that Peyman’s actions had a profound and lasting impact on the victim, who was described as being particularly vulnerable.

Judge Peter Davies presided over the case and sentenced Peyman to a total of six years and eight months in prison.

During the sentencing, the judge emphasized the seriousness of the offences and the need to protect the public from individuals who pose a risk of reoffending.

In addition to the custodial sentence, Peyman was subjected to a sexual harm prevention order, which was imposed for an indefinite period, restricting his activities and contact with minors.

Furthermore, Peyman, who was residing at Tradesmans Row, Sproatley, Hull at the time of sentencing, was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register indefinitely.

This measure is intended to monitor and restrict his movements and interactions to prevent any future harm.
