CHARLES MOORE FROM LOWESTOFT SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC CHILD ABUSE IMAGES AND VIDEOS

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Lowestoft, Suffolk, Charles Moore, a 52-year-old resident of Oulton Road North, was sentenced to prison after authorities uncovered a vast collection of child sexual abuse material on his personal computer. The investigation, which culminated in a police search on June 22 of the previous year, revealed the extent of Moore’s involvement in possessing and distributing some of the most heinous images and videos involving children.

During the search, law enforcement officials seized electronic devices from Moore’s residence, which contained approximately 200,000 indecent images and movies depicting child abuse. An expert who examined the material described some of the videos as among the most distressing they had encountered, involving acts of torture and extreme violence against children. The severity of the content was underscored by the categorization, with 1,746 still images and 169 videos classified as Level A, indicating the most serious category, which includes depictions of rape and torture of young children.

At Ipswich Crown Court, Judge John Devaux sentenced Moore to 28 months in prison. Moore, who had no prior criminal record, pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including three counts of making indecent images of children, three counts of distributing such images, possessing prohibited images, and possessing extreme pornographic material. In addition to his prison term, Moore was subjected to a ten-year sexual harm prevention order, restricting his activities and contact, and was ordered to register as a sex offender for the same duration.

Prosecutor Richard Potts highlighted the gravity of the case, emphasizing that the images and videos found on Moore’s devices represented some of the most disturbing material encountered by investigators. The case has raised serious concerns about child exploitation and the importance of vigilant law enforcement efforts to combat such heinous crimes, especially within the community of Lowestoft where Moore’s residence is located.
