CHARLES GOODWIN SENTENCED IN LIVERPOOL FOR MULTIPLE SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST STUDENTS
Charles Goodwin, a 21-year-old mixed martial arts fighter and business management student from Salford, was convicted today of multiple sexual offences involving four students in Liverpool and Manchester.The court found him guilty of raping two students and sexually assaulting another.
The jury returned verdicts after just over six hours of deliberation, with Goodwin showing no reaction.
His father and grandfather, present in the public gallery, reacted emotionally; his grandfather shouted, "Shame on this court, disgusting.

It is really no way to deal with these offences." The court heard that Goodwin was convicted of three charges relating to the first victim, including rape in Manchester and assault by penetration, as well as attempting to choke her by holding her down by the throat.
He was also found guilty of raping a second student in Liverpool and sexually assaulting a third in Liverpool, though he was acquitted of a sexual assault involving a fourth student.
During the attack on the first victim, Goodwin reportedly told her she deserved to be treated like a princess, carried her, and then attacked her violently in her own home.
Prosecutor Matthew Curtis told the jury, "The prosecution say the defendant did not care whether the complainants consented or not.
In short, he got what he wanted with no care for them or the immediate consequences of his actions." Goodwin, who admitted to having sexual activity with all four women but insisted they all consented, denied all 12 charges against him.
His offences occurred between January 15 and September 30, 2020.
Following the verdicts, Judge Garrett Byrne ordered a pre-sentence report to assess Goodwin's potential threat to women, warning him to prepare for a lengthy prison-term.
Goodwin was remanded in custody and scheduled to be sentenced in March.
