CHARLES CLEMENTS FROM NEATH CAUGHT WITH OVER 15,000 CHILD INDECENT IMAGES

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Neath, authorities uncovered a significant cache of illegal material on the computer of 64-year-old Charles Graham Clements. The investigation began in January when police received credible information indicating that Clements's computer was being used to access and store indecent images of children.

Acting on this intelligence, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Clements's residence on Church Place, Neath. During the raid, they seized his computer and conducted a thorough examination. The forensic analysis revealed a horrifying collection of illegal content, including 142 images and films classified as Category A, which represents the most severe and extreme form of child exploitation material. In addition, there were 324 images from Category B and a staggering 1,255 from Category C, illustrating a wide range of illicit content stored on his device.

The case took a serious turn given Clements's prior criminal history. It was revealed during proceedings at Swansea Magistrates Court that he is already subject to a sexual harm prevention order, a legal restriction imposed after his previous conviction in 2011 for possessing indecent images. This order specifically prohibits him from accessing the internet unless for specific purposes such as employment, lawful recreation, or purchasing goods and services.

When questioned by officers at the time of his arrest, Clements reportedly told them, “I need help,” indicating an awareness of his problematic behavior and possibly his need for intervention.

During the court hearing, Clements pleaded guilty to breaching the existing sexual harm prevention order and to three counts of possessing indecent images of children. His case was subsequently committed to Swansea Crown Court for sentencing, scheduled for September 17. Until then, he was granted unconditional bail.

The court was also informed that Clements is registered on the sex offenders register for life, a measure that underscores the severity of his offenses and the ongoing risk he poses. The case continues to draw attention to the importance of vigilant law enforcement and community awareness in combating child exploitation and safeguarding vulnerable populations.
