CAMERON BRADY SENTENCED TO 4 YEARS FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN BANBURY
A man identified as Cameron-John Brady has been sentenced to four years in prison following a serious case of child sexual offences. Brady, aged 27 from Thornton Street, Birkenhead, was found guilty at Oxford Crown Court after a five-day trial. The jury unanimously convicted him of three counts of assaulting a child by touching, two counts of assaulting a child by penetration, and one count of causing or inciting a child to watch a sexual act. He was acquitted of two additional counts of assaulting a child by penetration. The offences occurred during the 2000s when Brady was himself a minor, involving repeated abuse over several years. The police had previously interviewed Brady on 6 September 2022, leading to his formal charges on 29 April last year. Detective Constable Lucy McDonagh from the Child Abuse Investigation Unit highlighted the victim's resilience and reassured the public that offenders, regardless of the time elapsed, will be investigated and held accountable. "Perpetrators of sexual abuse towards children must be warned that no matter the passage of time, you will be investigated and brought to justice," she stated. The police's commitment to prosecuting such crimes remains unwavering as they support victims and seek justice for past offences.
