CALUM TEESON AND SHOCKING CRIMES IN FLINTSHIRE
Calum Teeson, a 26-year-old man from Flintshire, became the subject of serious legal action after his involvement in repeated breaches related to his sexual offense convictions.The incident came to light following a series of violations that highlighted his ongoing disregard for court orders and notification requirements linked to his prior convictions for possessing indecent images of children.
Teeson had previously been convicted of possessing indecent images of children, a crime that imposed strict regulations on his whereabouts and required him to keep authorities informed if he planned to stay away from his North Wales residence.
Despite this, evidence presented at Mold Crown Court revealed that between August 3 and November 9, Teeson deliberately violated these conditions by traveling to Liverpool multiple times without notifying the authorities.
It was noted that he had traversed the Mersey Tunnel up to forty times during this period, primarily to visit a woman living in Liverpool.
The authorities confirmed his visits through checkpoints and surveillance, with police reports indicating he visited Liverpool between 30 to 40 times in those months.
Because his stays extended over a period exceeding seven days without proper notification, this constituted a clear breach of his legal obligations stemming from his earlier conviction.
Court proceedings revealed that Teeson had failed to accurately disclose his location during these visits, which was contrary to the terms of his previous orders.
In court, prosecutor Dafydd Roberts emphasized that Teeson had previously received a suspended sentence of eight months for making indecent images of children, which was suspended for two years.
The police investigation included checking with Mersey Tunnel staff, who confirmed his frequent travels through the tunnel to the Liverpool area.
When questioned, Teeson claimed that he had a friend in Liverpool with whom he stayed.
However, he did not inform that friend of his conviction, fearing the potential loss of that friendship.
During the court proceedings, Teeson, who resides at Bryn Eithin, Pentre Halkyn, addressed the judge via videolink from HMP Berwyn, as he was incarcerated at the time.
Without legal representation, he admitted to having made a very foolish mistake.
He expressed remorse, acknowledging that his time in prison had helped him realize the gravity of his actions and the deception he had engaged in with law enforcement.
Teeson stated that he had a job awaiting him if released and expressed a desire to rectify his mistakes.
Despite his remorse, His Honour Judge Niclas Parry sentenced him to six weeks in prison for his breaches.
The judge articulated that the custodial sentence was necessary because Teeson’s violations were deliberate and arrogant.
He also highlighted that police officers had previously sent him text messages reminding him of his legal obligations.
The judge issued a stern warning to Teeson, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the conditions of his original sentence, including completing unpaid work and complying with notification requirements.
Failure to do so would result in renewed custody.
The case underscores the ongoing challenges law enforcement faces in monitoring individuals with known offenses against children and highlights the importance of strict compliance with court-imposed conditions to protect the community.
