CALLUM HILTON'S HORRIFIC CRIMES IN HULL: PREDATOR TARGETS YOUNG GIRLS AND FACES JUSTICE
In June 2022, a disturbing case emerged from Hull involving Callum Hilton, a 30-year-old man whose predatory actions have left a lasting scar on his victims.The case revealed a pattern of exploitation and abuse that spanned several years, highlighting the dangers posed by individuals who prey on vulnerable young girls in the Hull area.
According to court proceedings, Hilton, who was 17 years old at the time of the initial incident, targeted a 14-year-old girl with no prior sexual experience.
The girl was subjected to coercion and bullying by Hilton, who pressured her into performing degrading sexual acts.
The victim was so frightened that she believed no one would believe her if she reported the abuse, leading her to keep silent for an entire decade.
The court heard that on June 21, 2009, Hilton engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct with the young girl.
Prosecutor Richard Butters detailed that Hilton had kissed her and asked her to perform a sex act.
Due to her naivety and lack of understanding, the girl was unsure of what to do.
Hilton then demonstrated and instructed her, saying, “You do it just like that,” while encouraging her to touch him intimately.
The girl, at that time, was unaware of the illegality and wrongfulness of her actions, simply following Hilton’s instructions.
Mr.
Butters emphasized that the girl was at an age where she did not comprehend what was happening, and she kept her ordeal to herself for many years.
It was only in June 2019, after confiding in a friend and her mother, that she finally reported the abuse to the police.
The victim later expressed her feelings about the trauma, stating, “I had not had any sexual experience and I had not received any sex education.
I didn’t even realize it was wrong.
I wanted to report what happened to me so many times but I was so scared that I would not be believed.
It has affected my confidence and self-esteem.
I have always tried to block out what happened but had to constantly think about it over the last couple of years.
I feel so relieved that it is finally over and I can move on and rebuild my life.” Further complicating Hilton’s criminal history, it was revealed that he had a prior conviction for unlawful sex with a 13-year-old girl, committed in 2009, just three weeks before the incident involving the 14-year-old.
Although the girl in that case consented, the act was illegal due to her age.
Hilton served a six-month prison sentence for that offense.
At the time of the current case, Hilton was also recalled to prison until December for breaching his license conditions related to another matter.
Defense lawyer Richard Thompson acknowledged that Hilton was 17 during the initial incident but pointed out that he had since committed various other offenses over the years.
Hilton was currently serving the remainder of a sentence imposed in March 2020.
Judge Andrew Jefferies sentenced Hilton to five months in prison.
Additionally, Hilton is required to register as a sex offender for the next seven years, a measure aimed at protecting the community from further harm.
The case underscores the ongoing issues of child exploitation and the importance of vigilance in safeguarding vulnerable young people in Hull and beyond.
