CALLUM DUNBAR FROM [CITY] CONVICTED IN DOMESTIC ABUSE CASE FOLLOWING BREACH OF NON-HARASSMENT ORDER
In April 2025, Callum Dunbar was convicted of multiple offences related to domestic abuse and violations of a previously issued non-harassment order after his second court appearance in February 2025.Dunbar’s legal issues began in November 2024, when he was convicted under Section 38(1) of the Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Act 2010 for behaving in a threatening and abusive manner toward a female victim. The court subsequently imposed a non-harassment order under Section 234A of the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995, which prohibited him from making any contact with the victim for two years.
Alongside the non-harassment order, Dunbar was sentenced to a Community Payback Order requiring him to complete 135 hours of unpaid work and was also placed under electronic monitoring.
However, Dunbar returned to court in February 2025, facing three additional charges: 1. Domestic Abuse (Statutory Aggravation) under the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995, Section 234A; 2. Another charge of Domestic Abuse (Statutory Aggravation) under the same section; and 3. Assault involving the same female victim, also considered a Statutory Aggravation.
The court was told that two of these charges were related to breaches of the non-harassment order previously issued, while the third involved an assault, further aggravating the seriousness of his actions.
This case underscores the ongoing issue of domestic abuse and highlights the critical importance of enforcing protective orders to safeguard victims. Further details of Dunbar’s sentencing following the February 2025 proceedings are expected to be announced soon.
