Bristol man jailed for child sexual abuse and cruelty

BRISTOL MAN JAILED FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE AND CRUELTY

A man who was convicted of both physical and sexual abuse towards two young individuals has been sentenced to prison.

Bunja Godlad, who denied all allegations, was accused of inflicting harm in Bristol.

The accused, 30 years old and residing on Woodborough Road in Nottingham, maintained his innocence.

However, a jury at Bristol Crown Court found him guilty of four charges related to sexual activities and two charges of child cruelty.

The judge, Mr.

Adam Vaitilingam KC, sentenced him to five years in prison.

Addressing Godlad, the judge stated, "You denied the accusations in court, but the jury believed the victims." Additionally, Godlad was issued a restraining order barring him from contacting specific individuals, and he was subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order intended to deter future offenses.

He was also ordered to report his location to police indefinitely.

The court revealed that Godlad had used a belt to strike the victims on their backs, causing both physical injuries and lasting psychological effects.

It was also established that he had exploited opportunities to groped the victims, including touching their private areas.

The judge acknowledged that Godlad was of good character prior to these offenses and noted that he had faced undisclosed hardships which may have influenced his actions.
