AYRSHIRE MAN ACCUSED OF FACETIME SEX IMAGE THREATS
A MAN allegedly threatened to publish sexual screenshots of a woman on Valentine's Day after a private FaceTime call between the two.
Bryan Shearer is accused of recording a female performing a private act with the intent of "enabling yourself or another to look at the image".
The 36-year-old is said to have covertly taken screenshots of the complainant during a FaceTime call while she was in a state of undress and engaged in a sexual act on an occasion between January 1, 2017, and December 31, 2020.
Prosecutors also claim Shearer threatened to disclose a set of images on February 14, 2025, which purportedly showed the woman in an intimate situation and had not been publicly disclosed or shared with her consent.
He faces charges of recording and threatening to disclose sexual images which caused her fear, alarm, and distress, both incidents occurring at an address within the jurisdiction of Ayr Sheriff Court and elsewhere.
Shearer, who appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court represented by solicitor Tony Currie, pleaded not guilty.
As of the report, bail was continued for him, and trials are scheduled for a later date.
