BRUCE WAYNE BUSTED IN CALNE FOR VIOLATING SEXUAL HARM PREVENTION ORDER

In a troubling development, Bruce Thomas Wayne, a 32-year-old man with a criminal history, has been found to have violated his sexual harm prevention order within just a few months of its enforcement. The breach occurred when Wayne volunteered at Calne Central, a well-known community and youth centre located on Church Street in Calne, an act that raised serious concerns among authorities and the community alike.

Wayne, who was convicted of a child sex offence in 2011, had been placed under a sexual harm prevention order in 2020. Despite this legal restriction, he sought to engage in volunteer work at Calne Central, a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting young people and the local community. According to court reports, Wayne approached the centre before Christmas, expressing interest in volunteering. He was advised to return after the holiday period, which he did, attending an induction session before officially beginning his volunteer duties in January.

During his time at Calne Central, Wayne took on roles that included serving as a fire warden and a maintenance worker. He was also responsible for health and safety procedures, even delivering safety training sessions to other volunteers. The organisation provided him with a set of keys to the building and access to the CCTV system, raising concerns about the extent of his access and activities within the centre. It was alleged that Wayne may have accessed some of the CCTV footage during his volunteering period, which prompted the organisation to seek advice from the police.

Further troubling details emerged when it was revealed that Wayne had developed a personal relationship with a vulnerable woman who was a service user of the centre. The court heard that she contacted him seeking support late at night, and Wayne met her at midnight, raising questions about the appropriateness of their interactions given his criminal background. The relationship and his conduct with her are part of the ongoing investigation into his activities.

Records show that Wayne had previously been registered as a sex offender since 2011, with prior breaches of notification requirements in 2014. Interestingly, he was convicted under the alias Andrew Jason Phillips, with Bruce Wayne being the 'real' name, a moniker famously associated with the fictional superhero Batman. In October 2020, Weston-super-Mare magistrates imposed a five-year sexual harm prevention order on Wayne following police concerns about his behaviour, although specific details of these concerns were not disclosed publicly. The order explicitly prohibited him from joining support groups or engaging in activities that could put others at risk.

On Saturday morning, Wayne appeared before Swindon Magistrates’ Court, where he pleaded guilty to breaching the sexual harm prevention order. The court ordered him to be bailed until his next appearance at Swindon Crown Court on April 9, where sentencing will take place. As part of his bail conditions, Wayne must reside at Watermint Close and stay at least 100 metres away from Calne Central. The chairman of the bench, Amanda Lee, issued a stern warning, emphasizing the importance of strict compliance with the bail conditions, stating, “It goes without saying you do exactly as said. You don’t do exactly as said, there will be no discussion. Have we made ourselves clear?”
