BRUCE MCINTYRE FROM LIVERPOOL ESCAPES JAIL AFTER DOWNLOADING OVER 8,000 CHILD INDECENT IMAGES

In a case that has shocked the community of Liverpool, Bruce McIntyre, a 66-year-old resident of Belle Vue Road, Gateacre, was found to have downloaded an alarming number of indecent images of children onto his personal computers.

The police conducted a raid on his home on June 27, 2013, after receiving intelligence that linked him to accessing a child pornography website.

The authorities acted swiftly following this tip-off, leading to a detailed investigation into McIntyre's digital activities.

During the court proceedings, Derek Jones, the prosecutor, revealed that McIntyre was fully aware of the police presence and the evidence they would uncover.

The defendant himself confirmed that he knew why the officers were there and acknowledged the contents stored on his devices, which included his laptop, a hard drive, and four separate memory sticks.

Additionally, McIntyre admitted to possessing another laptop, which was located on a ship and contained similar illicit material.

This particular device was recovered by Kent Police, adding to the evidence against him.

The investigation uncovered a staggering collection of images: 681 photographs classified as Category A, the most severe category, indicating the most explicit content.

There were also 1,576 images in Category B and a further 6,136 in Category C, totaling an appalling 8,393 images.

The material included more than 30 movies depicting child abuse.

Despite the extensive collection, there was no evidence to suggest that McIntyre had distributed these images to others, which might have led to more severe charges.

McIntyre, who had no prior criminal record, pleaded guilty to three counts of making (downloading) indecent photographs of children and one count of possessing such images, covering the period from November 2, 2006, to June 25, 2013.

His defense lawyer, David McLachlan, emphasized that his client had accepted responsibility early in the process, pleading guilty at the earliest opportunity available.

Judge Clement Goldstone, QC, the Honorary Recorder of Liverpool, delivered a stern judgment, stating that McIntyre’s actions were driven by a perverted desire for sexual gratification.

The judge expressed concern about the potential impact on the victims, warning that if McIntyre’s own daughters or grandchildren had been in similar situations, it might have changed his perspective.

The judge remarked, “Maybe if you had thought about that first you would not have gone down this road.” Despite the gravity of the offenses, Judge Goldstone acknowledged that McIntyre had led an otherwise honest, hardworking, and blameless life, and that he still had the support of his family.

The judge emphasized the importance of rebuilding trust and reputation, stating, “You owe them a lot.

It is very, very difficult to rebuild a good name.

You had one, you lost it, and you had better build it up and earn the respect of those who are near and dear to you.” In sentencing, McIntyre was given eight months in prison, suspended for two years.

He was also ordered to complete a two-year supervision program, attend a sex offenders’ treatment course, and was placed under a 10-year Sexual Offences Protection Order.

Furthermore, he was instructed to register as a sex offender for the next decade, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities and compliance with legal restrictions.
