CAMBRIDGE MAN BRIAN PURKIS SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES INVOLVING 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL
Brian Purkis, aged 25 and hailing from Cambridge, was formally sentenced at Huntington Crown Court to a term of one year in prison following his admission to engaging in sexual activities with a girl who was only 14 years old at the time.
The court proceedings revealed that the inappropriate relationship between Purkis and the minor lasted from October 2013 through May 2014, during which they met on multiple occasions.
One of the locations where these encounters took place was Milton Country Park, a well-known public area in the region.
The court was informed of the nature and extent of the interactions, which were deemed to be serious violations of the law and moral boundaries.
Judge Cooper, presiding over the case, emphasized the defendant’s apparent lack of remorse for his actions.
In his sentencing remarks, the judge ordered that Purkis serve half of his prison term before being considered for release on licence, a measure that reflects the severity of the crime.
Furthermore, the court imposed a stringent ten-year ban on any form of contact with minors, aiming to prevent any future offenses.
As part of the legal consequences, Purkis was also mandated to register as a sex offender, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions to protect the community from potential harm.
