2008: JAILED: PERVERT WHO CORRUPTED TEEN BOY
A man with a long history of child abuse admissions was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment by Worcester Crown Court.Brian Holden first confessed in 1993 that he had performed sexual acts on a 14-year-old boy on five occasions.
However, the victim refrained from reporting the incidents initially, fearing to distress his severely ill parents.
Last year, now in his 30s, the victim came forward after his father’s death and his mother’s recovery, revealing the full extent of Holden’s crimes.
Holden, aged 46 and residing on Southdown Road in Worcester, pleaded guilty to four counts of indecent assault and one incitement to buggery.
Judge Andrew Geddes pointed out that Holden’s earlier confession lacked acknowledgment of the most serious elements of his offenses.
It was established that Holden had manipulated and exploited the boy for sexual satisfaction, causing lasting emotional harm.
The judge stated, “This will impact the victim for life,” and condemned Holden’s actions as deeply damaging to society.
The offender had engaged with the boy through a friend, took him swimming when he was 13, then later in woods, forced him to lift his shirt and took photographs.
When the boy was 14, Holden assaulted him on a sofa, groped him in a vehicle, and attempted to persuade him into sexual acts.
The victim reported the abuse after viewing a television program on childhood sexual abuse.
Records also show Holden had 13 previous convictions for indecent assault against boys.
