EAST 17 SINGER BRIAN HARVEY SENT TO JAIL FOR HARASSMENT AND BREAK-IN
Former East 17 singer Brian Harvey was sentenced to 56 days in jail by a High Court judge after he was found guilty of breaking a court order meant to prevent him from harassing his estranged wife, Natasha. The court revealed that Harvey had gone to her home in Buckhurst Hill, Essex, just before Christmas and engaged in a heated argument, during which he kicked in her door. Harvey, aged 27 at the time, had previously been ordered in 1998 to stay away from Natasha following their tumultuous marriage, which lasted about a year. Despite this, he made his way to her residence and caused a disturbance during their confrontation. It is also alleged that during a custody dispute over their four-year-old daughter Tegan, Harvey attempted to tarnish Natasha's reputation by trying to plant alcohol and cocaine on her, with claims that he instructed a minder: "Take a couple of pictures. If you get them pictures I'll get custody." Harvey has announced plans to marry his current girlfriend, model Emma B, although he is also involved in a divorce proceeding and seeking to regain possession of their former marital home valued at £300,000. Once a popular figure with East 17, Harvey's career declined after he publicly boasted about his drug use, and he has since claimed to be bankrupt. His personal life has been marked by a series of tumultuous relationships, including a stormy past with former EastEnders actress Danniella Westbrook. This case highlights the ongoing issues of domestic violence and harassment, and Harvey's jail sentence underscores the court’s efforts to enforce protection orders and safeguard victims.
