BRIAN HILDRETH AND DANIELS FROM NEWCASTLE FACE LIFE IN PRISON AFTER HORRIFIC CHILD ABUSE CASES
In a chilling case that has shocked the community of Newcastle, Brian Daniels, also known by his former name Brian Hildreth, was subjected to a lengthy court process that revealed the extent of his disturbing criminal history involving the abuse of young girls.The proceedings took place at Newcastle Crown Court, where Daniels, aged 74, was handed a significant additional prison sentence after new allegations surfaced, further cementing his reputation as a predatory paedophile.
Daniels had already been serving an 18-year sentence following his conviction for multiple heinous offences committed against four young girls.
These offences included a particularly disturbing incident involving the rape of a young girl.
As his initial sentence was nearing its end, three more victims courageously came forward, providing detailed accounts of their suffering and exposing the full scope of his predatory behavior.
Originally, Daniels, who had been residing in Newcastle, was scheduled for release on licence in May 2020.
However, the new allegations prompted a thorough investigation, during which Daniels confessed to a total of 11 historical sexual offences.
The victims ranged in age from just five years old to teenagers at the time of the abuse, highlighting the disturbing pattern of his predatory conduct.
During the court hearing, Daniels appeared before Newcastle Crown Court to face the new charges.
The court heard that he was sentenced to an additional six years and nine months behind bars.
A particularly emotional moment occurred when a statement from his youngest victim was read aloud by prosecutors.
The young girl, who was just five years old at the time of the abuse, described her ongoing trauma, including night terrors, and expressed her desire for justice.
The victim’s statement was a powerful reminder of the lasting impact of Daniels’ actions.
She stated, “I want him to know that I haven’t forgotten what he did.
I have lived with this for nearly 20 years and I want him to pay for what he has done.
I do not want him to think he has got away with this.” In addition to the prison sentence, Daniels was subjected to a lifelong sexual harm prevention order.
If he is ever released from prison, he will be required to sign the sex offender’s register for the rest of his life, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.
The court also heard that Daniels had been battling serious health issues, with his legal team arguing that he might not survive long in prison.
Despite this, the court emphasized the severity of his crimes and the need for justice for his victims.
