BRIAN CONNOR FROM LIVERPOOL SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN OLD SWAN
A man residing in Old Swan, Liverpool, has been handed a significant prison sentence after being found guilty of serious child sex offences.Brian Connor, aged 61 and living on Elms House Road in Old Swan, was sentenced on Thursday, 4 April, at Liverpool Crown Court.
The court proceedings followed his plea of guilty to multiple charges related to his inappropriate and illegal conduct involving minors.
Connor was convicted of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, a crime that highlights the disturbing nature of his actions.
In addition to this, he was found guilty of producing indecent photographs of a child, a charge that underscores the severity of his misconduct.
Furthermore, Connor was convicted of inciting a child under the age of 13 to participate in sexual activity, a particularly heinous offence that has prompted the court to impose strict penalties.
As part of the sentencing, the court also issued a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order against Connor, restricting his activities and interactions to prevent further harm.
Additionally, he will be registered on the Sexual Offender Register for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring and oversight of his conduct.
The arrest of Brian Connor was the result of a police investigation into online interactions.
Law enforcement officers set up an undercover operation, during which Connor believed he was communicating with a minor.
Instead, he was engaging with an officer posing as a child.
During these interactions, Connor engaged in sexual communications, which provided crucial evidence for the case.
Detective Constable Julia Jennings expressed her condemnation of Connor’s actions, stating, “The behaviour displayed by Connor is utterly appalling and he deserves to be behind bars.” She emphasized the importance of community vigilance and encouraged anyone who has experienced sexual abuse or suspects a child is being abused to report it to the police.
Jennings reassured the public that all reports are taken very seriously and that specially trained officers are available to handle such cases with sensitivity and compassion, urging victims and witnesses alike to come forward without fear.
