MAN JAILED FOR CAMPAIGN OF HARASSMENT AGAINST NORTHWICH WOMAN
A MAN from Kingsley has been hit with a two-year prison sentence for the harassment of a woman from Northwich.Brandon Banner already had a restraining order when he arrived at an address in the town on Wednesday, August 27.
The 23-year-old, of Beech View Road, was arrested as a result of reports of criminal damage to two cars at the property as well as false reports of an assault at the property.
Cheshire Police said it was apparent to the attending paramedics and police officers that he was responsible for the false reports of an assault while he was drunk on whiskey.
Banner admitted one offence of harassment and one offence of false communications with intent to cause harm at the first opportunity the following day at the magistrates court.
At Chester Crown Court last week he was hit with a two-year prison sentence by Judge Simon Berkson.
PC Isabel O'Brien, of Cheshire Police, said: "Banner knew he had a restraining order against him yet he spent the night waging a campaign of harassment against the victim without thinking of the consequences." "Hopefully he understands the consequences are time spent in prison." Anyone can contact Cheshire Police on 101 or on cheshire.police.uk.
