BRADLEY WILLIAMS FENTON STOKE-ON-TRENT SEX OFFENDER SENTENCED AFTER RAPE AND MOTORBIKE CRASH
In July 2019, a disturbing case emerged involving Bradley Williams, an 18-year-old resident of May Place, Fenton, who was found guilty of multiple serious offenses involving a young girl in Stoke-on-Trent. The case revealed a pattern of predatory behavior and reckless conduct that shocked the local community and prompted a stern legal response.Williams had engaged in a series of sexual encounters with a girl under the age of 13, a fact that he initially tried to conceal by instructing the victim not to disclose the incidents to anyone, including her father. Over the course of their interactions, he committed the heinous act of raping the girl on 14 separate occasions. The court heard that the young girl was unable to give consent due to her age, yet Williams persisted despite being told to stop. His actions not only violated her trust but also broke the law in a profoundly serious manner.
Further complicating his criminal record, Williams admitted to inciting the girl to engage in sexual activity, adding to the gravity of his offenses. His criminal behavior extended beyond sexual misconduct, as he also committed a motoring offense involving a stolen motorcycle. The incident occurred in Burslem, where Williams attempted to overtake a van while riding the stolen bike with a female passenger. He had no valid driving license or insurance at the time, which compounded his legal troubles.
Following the motorcycle crash, Williams and his passenger fled the scene and sought medical attention at A&E. The police investigation linked him to the stolen vehicle, leading to his arrest. Prosecutor Nicholas Tatlow highlighted the reckless nature of his actions, emphasizing the danger posed by riding without proper documentation and the illegal theft involved.
During the court proceedings at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, Recorder Michelle Heeley addressed Williams directly, emphasizing the severity of his crimes. She pointed out that Williams had taken a bike that was not his, crashed it, and caused injury, all while engaging in sexual acts with a minor. The court was informed that Williams had a history of instability, having moved from home to home throughout his life, which may have contributed to his behavior.
In sentencing, Williams was handed a two-year youth rehabilitation order, which includes supervision and a curfew, aimed at rehabilitating him and preventing future offenses. Additionally, he received a 12-month community order. As part of the court's measures to protect the public, Williams was also subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will be registered as a sex offender for the next five years. These measures serve as a reminder of the serious nature of his crimes and the ongoing risk he poses to the community of Stoke-on-Trent and Fenton.
