BLAYNE HOLLYWOOD SENTENCED IN KILMARNOCK FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES AND ASSAULT

A man identified as Blayne Hollywood, who previously resided on Granger Road in Kilmarnock, has been sentenced to prison following a series of disturbing incidents involving a minor and his partner. The case was heard at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court, where it was disclosed that Hollywood has an extensive criminal record, comprising 17 prior convictions, three of which are related to domestic issues.

Hollywood pleaded guilty to charges involving the exploitation of a young girl. Specifically, he admitted to intentionally causing a child to view a written sexual communication, which included explicit images of private parts that were obscured by emojis. The court was informed that Hollywood had sent messages to the girl, inquiring about her sexual status and sharing explicit images, actions that were deemed to be for the purpose of sexual gratification or to humiliate, distress, or alarm her.

In addition to the charges related to the minor, Hollywood also confessed to assaulting his partner on August 3 of the previous year. The incident took place at Shortlees Crescent, where he pushed her and struck her on the head with his hand during a confrontation. The court heard that the altercation was triggered by an early morning dispute, which escalated into violence.

Representing Hollywood, his solicitor acknowledged his significant criminal history but emphasized that his most recent conviction was nearly three years prior. The solicitor also explained that at the time of the offenses, Hollywood was under the influence of drugs, specifically admitting to drug abuse in August 2024. However, he made it clear that Hollywood did not seek to justify his actions, only providing context for his behavior. The solicitor further noted that Hollywood had initially made contact with the complainant, but stressed that this did not excuse the subsequent sending of explicit messages.

Regarding the assault, the lawyer stated that the confrontation became apparent in the early hours, leading Hollywood to lash out at his partner, an act he deeply regrets. Hollywood had pleaded guilty to the assault, demonstrating an understanding of right and wrong. The solicitor expressed hope that Hollywood wanted to move past his past mistakes, believing he had done so.

However, Sheriff Colin Bissett expressed reservations about Hollywood’s acknowledgment of his guilt. He noted that the court had previously questioned whether Hollywood had fully accepted responsibility, citing a degree of minimization in the criminal justice social work report. The sheriff concluded that the only appropriate sentence was custodial, given the circumstances.

Hollywood was sentenced to six months in prison. As he was led away in handcuffs, he shouted,
