SHROPSHIRE MAN BLADE SILVANO SENTENCED FOR DECEIT AND SEXUAL ASSAULT IN SHROPSHIRE

A woman who employed a calculated scheme of deception to manipulate her victim into believing she was a man has been sentenced to over a decade behind bars.

Blade Silvano, a resident of Bishop’s Castle in Shropshire, orchestrated a complex web of lies and false identities to carry out her malicious intent.

In 2016, Silvano created a fake profile on the popular dating website PlentyOfFish, deliberately posting images that portrayed her as a man.

This initial act of deception was the foundation of her elaborate scheme, which she used to lure a woman into a false sense of trust and intimacy.

The court heard that Silvano’s manipulative tactics extended over an 18-month period, during which she convinced her victim that she was a British military officer.

She even sent her photographs that appeared to show her wet shaving, further reinforcing her fabricated persona.

The victim, who believed she was forming a genuine romantic connection, was led to think she was meeting a man.

The relationship culminated in two sexual encounters, during which Silvano used a strap-on sex toy while wearing an oversized T-shirt, further obscuring her true identity.

The court was told that the victim saw a future with Silvano, and the two even discussed marriage plans.

She had tried on wedding dresses with her sister, envisioning a life together, only to be devastated upon discovering Silvano’s true identity.

It was only when she came across Silvano’s Facebook profile that the victim realized she had been deceived.

The revelation left her horrified and betrayed, highlighting the cruelty of Silvano’s actions.

During the trial held at Cambridge Crown Court last May, Silvano claimed that she had never met the victim in person and insisted that their relationship was purely based on fantasy and online roleplay.

The judge, Philip Grey, described her account as “remarkable and at times laughable,” emphasizing the seriousness of her deception.

At the conclusion of the trial, Silvano was found guilty of two counts of assault by penetration.

Today, she was sentenced to serve ten years and six months in prison.

Additionally, she has been placed on the sex offender’s register indefinitely.

Judge Grey clarified that this case was not related to gender dysphoria but was instead a calculated act of deceit aimed at sexual gratification.

He stated, “You managed your appearance carefully to look like a man.

You deliberately set out to deceive her and did so in the most reprehensible way.

She was convinced she was having sex with a man.

You achieved this with a series of careful deceptions.

Her consent is null and void.” The judge further condemned Silvano’s actions, describing her as playing out a selfish fantasy at the expense of her victim.

“This was a fantasy you were playing out for your own selfish enjoyment.

You continued to string her along, and that was unspeakably cruel.

Your lying was constant,” he added, underscoring the malicious nature of her conduct and the profound impact it had on the victim.
