MAN CARRIED OUT SEX ATTACK ON WOMAN IN GLASGOW NIGHTCLUB
A man who sexually assaulted a woman in a Glasgow nightclub has been sentenced.
Court documents state that Khan struck the woman on her buttocks with his hand at Bamboo nightclub in the city centre on July 27, 2024.
Khan’s lawyer told the court that despite social work reports stating his client was “still in denial” of committing the offence, he had since accepted responsibility.
Khan was fined £520 and made subject to notification requirements for five years.
Addressing Khan, Sheriff Diana McConnell said: “Your lawyer says this was a one-off incident.
I take into account your age.” The defence solicitor said: “It went to trial, where they found him guilty.
The report highlights that he was found guilty but is still in denial of committing this offence, and that he has shown no empathy.
Speaking with him today, he has had time to consider his actions, and he does accept responsibility.
He has no previous convictions.
He is only 22 years old and is assessed as a low risk of reoffending.
