NORFOLK MAN RECAPTURED FOR HORRIFIC DOMESTIC ABUSE ATTACK
Benjamin Jones, a 30-year-old previously residing in Attleborough, Norfolk, has been involved in a violent domestic abuse case.He was initially sentenced to 50 months in prison last June for a campaign of abuse against his pregnant fiancée, which included a horrific attack where he tried to bite her eyeball out 'so no one else would want her.' During the assault, Jones bit his fiancée's face, gouging out part of her eyebrow, and made threats to disfigure her further.
He also dragged her through the bedroom by her hair, strangled her, and attempted to suffocate her, leaving her unconscious at the scene.
The victim reported that she thought she was going to die.
Jones fled the scene but was later found and taken to hospital.
Previously, he had served 18 months in custody for assault causing actual bodily harm, assault by beating, criminal damage, and possession of drugs including cocaine and cannabis.
He was released on license but was recalled to prison after breaching the terms by attempting to contact his former partner, who has a 10-year restraining order against him.
Jones's past involves a whirlwind romance starting in 2021, followed by escalating violence shortly after their engagement.
His actions have raised concerns from domestic violence groups about early release policies for perpetrators.
The case highlights ongoing issues of domestic abuse and the importance of safeguarding victims.
