BELAL HUSSAIN SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF TEENAGE GIRLS IN WEST BROMWICH

A man named Belal Hussain has been sentenced to imprisonment after using social media to engage in the sexual exploitation of underage girls in West Bromwich. Hussain, aged 34, was found to have initiated contact with a 15-year-old girl through the Snapchat app in June of the previous year. This initial communication led to them meeting in person, with Hussain arriving in his car to meet the young girl in West Bromwich.

Later that same month, Hussain was involved with two teenage girls, both aged 15. He were able to lure and pressure the girls into engaging in sexual activities with him. During these encounters, Hussain did not only coerce the girls into acts they were clearly uncomfortable with, but also handed them money, further manipulating their vulnerability. The two girls later recounted their distressing experiences during interviews with specialist officers from West Midlands Police. They described feeling frightened and pressured during these incidents, which left them emotionally scarred.

In the process of investigating Hussain, officers immediately took action upon hearing the girls’ accounts. They checked his Snapchat account and successfully identified him as the suspect. Hussain was arrested in September after his identity was confirmed. During police investigations, authorities seized electronic devices belonging to Hussain. However, he chose not to cooperate with the officers, refusing to answer questions and failing to provide passwords for any of his mobile phones or other devices. Despite his lack of cooperation, law enforcement continued their investigation, gathering sufficient evidence to press charges.

Hussain appeared in court at Wolverhampton Crown Court, where he pleaded guilty to two charges of sexual activity with a child. As a result of his guilty plea, he was sentenced to three years and six months in prison. The court also imposed a sexual harm prevention order, restricting Hussain’s future activities and contact, and mandated that he will remain on the sex offender register for life.

PC Adrian Jackson, the officer who led the investigation, spoke about the impact of his actions, saying, "This horrific exploitation and grooming of two teenage girls has had a devastating effect, with one of the girls attempting to take her own life. I am relieved she survived and had the strength to speak out against the man who harmed her. However, I am aware that the long-term effects of this trauma will remain with her for life."

He continued, expressing his satisfaction that the victims’ courage in coming forward allowed law enforcement to secure a conviction. Support was provided to the girls throughout the investigation by several partner agencies, including The Horizons Unit of Sandwell Children’s Trust. PC Jackson emphasized that the bravery of these young victims was pivotal in delivering justice and hoped that this outcome would offer some measure of closure and reassurance following their traumatic experiences.
