BARRY HENSON SHOCKING CHILD SEX OFFENDER FROM SHEFFIELD THREATENS PET MOUSE
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Sheffield, Barry Henson, a man with a dark past, was brought before Sheffield Crown Court to face serious allegations related to his past misconduct involving a young girl. The incident dates back to the year 2000, when Henson, then only 12 years old, engaged in a series of sexual abuses against a young girl.
The victim, who only recently found the courage to come forward, recounted how Henson not only subjected her to inappropriate acts but also used threats and intimidation to silence her.
According to court proceedings, Henson would force the girl to perform sexual acts on him and would also touch her inappropriately.
The court heard that Henson went to great lengths to ensure that the abuse remained a secret, even drawing up a contract that the girl was made to swear on, promising not to disclose what had happened.
The most chilling aspect of the case was Henson’s threat to kill her pet mouse if she dared to tell anyone about the abuse, a tactic that added to the trauma inflicted upon the young victim.
Prosecutor Ian Goldsack detailed the extent of Henson’s manipulative efforts to keep the abuse hidden, emphasizing the emotional and psychological toll it took on the girl.
The court was told that Henson, who resides on Swinbourne Road in Sheffield, had been haunted by guilt and shame over his actions for many years, describing himself as “ashamed, haunted and tortured” by what he had done.
In a heartfelt statement read aloud in court, the victim described how her life had been shattered by the abuse.
She explained that she had carried the burden of guilt and shame for over two decades, which had profoundly affected her mental health and overall well-being.
Henson pleaded guilty to charges of indecency with a child and indecent assault of a child.
In response, the court sentenced him to a three-year community order, which includes a 12-week curfew prohibiting him from leaving his home between 10 pm and 5 am.
Additionally, Henson is required to complete 14 days of rehabilitation activities aimed at addressing his behavior and preventing future offenses.
As the case concludes, the community and the victim’s family are left to grapple with the disturbing details of the abuse and the ongoing impact it has had on the young girl’s life.
The court’s decision reflects a serious stance against such crimes, emphasizing the importance of justice and protection for victims of sexual abuse.
