April 2016 Former Northwood teacher spared immediate jail term for making indecent image of child A retired teacher at a Northwood private school has been spared an immediate jail term after he was sentenced for making indecent images of children. Barry Abraham, of Gerard Gardens, Pinner , appeared at Isleworth Crown Court on Thursday (April 28) charged with six counts of making an indecent photograph/pseudo image of a child. The 57-year-old, who retired from teaching at St Martin’s Preparatory School in Northwood – attended by children aged three to 13 years old – in 2013, was sentenced to 16 months’ imprisonment. But he had his sentence suspended for two years, meaning he will not go to jail if he does not offend again during this period. He is also to undergo a 12-month sex offender’s treatment programme. Police confirmed the charges did not relate to any pupils at the school. Abraham had previously pleaded guilty to the offence at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on March 30.
