NIGHTCLUB OWNER IN THE DOCK
A nightclub boss with a violent past is back in the dock after a court heard he subjected a woman to months of abuse — but sentencing has been kicked into the long grass.Aydin Dag, who runs a late-night takeaway in Fife, admitted a campaign of domestic abuse that saw him scream, swear and issue violent threats against a woman and her family.
The offences stretched over nearly a year, between late 2024 and 2025.
Dag, from St Andrews, appeared at Perth Sheriff Court, where he was due to learn his fate — only for the hearing to be abruptly postponed.
The court was told no social work report had been prepared, forcing the sheriff to delay sentencing until March.
Dag is no stranger to violence.
He was previously convicted in connection with abuse, and has also been linked to a string of serious incidents away from the courtroom.
In 2023, he was stabbed at his own takeaway during a dispute over money.
Four years earlier, he was accused of trying to stab a former employee.
Despite the disturbing history, Dag’s lawyer urged the court to take account of his business responsibilities, telling the sheriff that his work commitments were significant.
The case was deferred — leaving the victim waiting once again as sentencing hangs in the balance.
