TWENTY PEOPLE JAILED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE COMMITTED DECADES AGO
A total of twenty individuals have been sentenced to a cumulative 277 years in prison following a significant investigation into sexual abuse allegations involving young girls in Kirklees.
During the sentencing phase, it was revealed that most of the offenses occurred in Dewsbury and Batley, involving three girls.
One of these victims was only 12 years old when the abuse first started, with the crimes spanning from 1995 to 2003.
The legal proceedings commenced at Leeds Crown Court in July 2023, featuring six separate trials.
The final trial concluded in September 2024, with the sentencing of the last defendant scheduled for 2025.
