ATTILA BAJNOCZI CAUGHT IN WARRINGTON BY PAEDOPHILE HUNTERS: SENTENCED TO THREE YEARS IN PRISON
In December 2019, a disturbing case unfolded involving Attila Bajnoczi, a resident of Warrington, who was apprehended after attempting to engage with what he believed was a 12-year-old girl. The incident was orchestrated by a vigilant paedophile hunter group known as Defending the Innocent, which had set up an online decoy to catch individuals seeking to exploit minors.
According to court proceedings held at Liverpool Crown Court, Bajnoczi, aged 25 and residing on Bewsey Road in Warrington, initiated contact with the decoy through the social app Skout on August 20.
During their initial interaction, the decoy revealed her age as 12, a fact that Bajnoczi appeared to acknowledge but continued to pursue the conversation nonetheless.
Prosecutor Barnes detailed how Bajnoczi persisted in communicating via WhatsApp, where he expressed admiration for the decoy, describing her as cute, nice, and pretty.
The court heard that on September 6, he inquired about her personal life, asking whether she had ever had a boyfriend and if she was a virgin.
He further made explicit comments, stating, “Sex is awesome,” and began discussing sexual topics related to the decoy, who was, in reality, an adult posing as a child.
Disturbingly, Bajnoczi sent videos of himself performing sexual acts, further demonstrating his deviant interests.
The situation escalated when he arranged to meet the decoy at Warrington Bank Quay station on October 13.
Unbeknownst to him, the meeting was being monitored by another paedophile hunter group, Confronted and Caught, who had been briefed on the case.
The group streamed the confrontation live on their Facebook page, capturing the moment of his arrest at the scene.
During the hearing, Bajnoczi’s legal representative, Mr.
Rawson, highlighted that he had no prior convictions and had only been living in the UK for a year.
Despite this, Judge David Aubrey emphasized the severity of the offense, stating that only immediate custody was appropriate.
The judge remarked that the communication demonstrated a clear unhealthy and deviant interest in children, noting that Bajnoczi believed he was speaking to a real 12-year-old girl, which was not the case.
Judge Aubrey explained that although there was no actual victim involved, the nature of the communication revealed a disturbing sexual fantasy involving a young child.
The court underscored that Bajnoczi’s actions were indicative of a serious and concerning pattern of behavior.
As a result, he was sentenced to three years in prison and was also subject to a sexual harm prevention order for ten years, aimed at monitoring and restricting his contact to prevent future offenses.
