In July 2022, a disturbing incident unfolded involving Asif Hussain, a taxi driver from Sandwell, who committed a heinous sexual assault against a young woman in her own neighborhood. The victim, a 23-year-old woman, had been enjoying a night out with friends in Ashby town centre when she encountered Hussain outside a local takeaway. He approached her, asking if she needed a cab to go home, and agreed upon a fare of 20 pounds.
