ASHLEY WRIGHT FROM SEVENOAKS SENTENCED TO 25 YEARS FOR SHOCKING SEXUAL ABUSE OF TWO YOUNG GIRLS

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Sevenoaks, Ashley Wright, a 29-year-old man formerly residing in New Ash Green, Kent, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 25 years for a series of heinous sexual offenses committed against two young girls under the age of 13. The crimes spanned over a period of three years, during which Wright manipulated and exploited the trust of his young victims in a series of depraved acts.

Wright's pattern of abuse was both calculated and cruel. He gained the girls' confidence, luring them into situations where he could carry out his sinister intentions. The assaults took place in private locations such as his car and van, where he subjected the children to sexual acts and psychological torment. One of the most alarming aspects of his crimes was his use of threats; on one occasion, he warned one of his victims that if she did not comply with his demands, he would take her to a place where other men were present, further intimidating her and asserting control over her.

In addition to physical abuse, Wright forced the young girls to watch pornography on his laptop and mobile phone, further corrupting and traumatizing them. His actions were uncovered after he was arrested by Kent Police in the Ilford area on March 7, 2014. Following his arrest, Wright pleaded guilty to a total of 21 counts related to his sexual misconduct.

The charges included 12 counts of raping a child under 13, three counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, two counts of causing or enticing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, one count of causing child pornography, and three counts of possessing indecent images of children. The court proceedings revealed the extent of his depravity and the calculated nature of his crimes.

Detective Constable Claire Bassett of Kent Police’s Public Protection Department commented on the case, stating, “Wright gained the trust of his victims, which he then used to his advantage to obtain his own depraved sexual gratification. He deliberately instilled fear into his victims, and the impact of his depravity will, sadly, be felt for many years to come. I would like to pay tribute to both his victims and their families. It is thanks to their tremendous strength and courage that Wright has been brought to justice and will now thankfully spend a very long time behind bars.”

The sentencing underscores the severity of Wright’s crimes and the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to protect vulnerable children from predators. The community of Sevenoaks and surrounding areas can find some solace in the fact that justice has been served, but the scars left by such heinous acts will undoubtedly linger for years to come.
