ASHLEY HAYES FROM NOTTINGHAM SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENSES IN SHOCKING CASE
In a disturbing case that has shocked the Nottingham community, 25-year-old Ashley Hayes, who has no fixed address, was convicted of engaging in sexual activity with a 13-year-old girl. The incident, which took place in Nottingham, led to Hayes being sentenced to a total of five years in prison for his criminal actions.
Hayes had previously been known to authorities for his involvement in similar offenses.
In 2011, he was ordered to register as a sex offender following two separate incidents involving sexual activity with girls under the age of 14.
Despite these prior convictions and the legal obligations that came with them, Hayes continued to pose a significant threat to young girls.
The recent case came to light in February 2018 when Hayes was arrested after evidence confirmed that he had engaged in sexual relations with a 14-year-old girl.
The court proceedings culminated on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Nottingham Crown Court, where Hayes appeared for sentencing.
During the hearing, he pleaded guilty to charges of inciting a teenage girl to engage in sexual activity and for breaching his sex offender requirements.
The judge sentenced Hayes to five years in prison for the sexual activity with a minor.
Additionally, he was given a two-year sentence, to run concurrently, for aggravating factors related to his previous convictions and ongoing criminal behavior.
The court also imposed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which prohibits Hayes from being in contact with any girl under the age of 16 and bars him from being near the victim.
PC Ross Topham, speaking about the case, expressed his concern over Hayes' attitude and behavior.
He stated, “Hayes-White’s complete disregard of his previous convictions and requirements shows that he had no desire to reform himself, or had any remorse.
His family no longer have any contact with him due to his actions over the last few years.” He further added, “He is a dangerous man that preyed on young girls and we are pleased with the sentencing result, that he has now been locked up for five years means he will not be able to harm any other children.
The victim has been incredibly brave throughout this process and we hope that she will now be able to move on with her life.
We will not tolerate child sexual abuse in Nottinghamshire and will do everything we can to bring offenders to justice.”
