BIRMINGHAM UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR JAILED FOR PRODUCING OVER 1500 CHILD INDECENT IMAGES
A Birmingham University professor named Artur Majewski has been sentenced for his involvement in producing over 1,500 indecent images of children.
Majewski, aged 50, pleaded guilty to numerous charges at Worcester Crown Court and was convicted of possessing 21 category A images, which depict penetrative sexual acts and extreme indecency involving children.
In total, he was found to have 1,568 indecent images spanning categories A, B, and C.
Additionally, he pleaded guilty to possessing an image that included bestiality, showing a person engaging in intercourse with a live animal.
The sentencing included an eight-month suspended prison term, 200 days of unpaid work, and an order to complete 20 rehabilitation activity requirement (RAR) days.
He was also ordered to pay £150 in costs and will be placed under a sexual harm prevention order and on the sex offenders' register for 10 years.
The University of Birmingham stated that the charges do not relate to his employment and took immediate action by suspending him after becoming aware of the charges.
