STALKER WHO 'HAD NO REGARD' FOR VICTIM JAILED FOR BREACHING COURT ORDERS
A man who persistently contacted his ex-partner despite a previous stalking conviction has been sent to prison.
Aran Bown, 34, breached both a non-molestation order and a restraining order, according to police.
These protective measures had been imposed earlier in the year following his conviction for stalking offences against the same woman.
Despite the court orders, Bown made “multiple” phone calls to the victim using a withheld number and also contacted her via WhatsApp, the police reported.
In addition to violating the court orders, Bown also failed to comply with a suspended sentence that had been handed down in connection with the same victim, the force added.
Bown, who has no fixed address, appeared before Leicester Crown Court on Friday, 6 December, where he received a custodial sentence of 36 weeks for the breaches.
Detective Constable Caroline Griffiths, who led the investigation, commented on Wednesday, 11 December: “Despite being the subject of the orders, Bown continued to contact the victim and cause her distress.
He had no regard for her feelings or the fact he was breaching the conditions of the orders.”
