ENFIELD PAEDOPHILE APEDELRAZEK BADRAN SENTENCED TO LIFE FOR SEX ATTACKS ON SCHOOLGIRLS

In a case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Enfield, Apedelrazek Badran, a 33-year-old man with a disturbing history of sexual offenses, has been sentenced to life imprisonment following his conviction for heinous crimes involving two young schoolgirls. The court proceedings revealed a pattern of predatory behavior that spanned over a decade, highlighting Badran's status as one of the most dangerous offenders to face the justice system.

According to court records, Badran was found guilty at Wood Green Crown Court in August of raping a 12-year-old girl in January. The assault occurred after Badran approached her under the false pretense of being a security guard. He claimed that she matched the description of a shoplifter and insisted on searching her, exploiting her vulnerability. The young girl was on her phone calling her mother at the time, and her mother rushed to the scene in a panic but was unable to locate her daughter.

Further evidence presented during the trial detailed how, just an hour prior, Badran had approached another 12-year-old girl, this time claiming to be a police officer. He attempted to arrest her and then tried to force her into a nearby van. The girl managed to escape from his grasp, and CCTV footage was shown to the jury, depicting her running through the street with Badran following on his bike. These disturbing incidents underscore Badran’s manipulative tactics and predatory nature.

In addition to these assaults, Badran was convicted of three counts of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which was put in place to restrict his contact with minors. His criminal history reveals a pattern of sexual offenses dating back to 2003, when he was jailed for nine years after raping a nine-year-old girl in east London. That attack occurred after Badran, then 20, spotted the young girl fishing at a canal near Hackney Marshes and lured her to a secluded spot where he assaulted her. He threatened her with a gun-like device, warning her not to tell anyone, although no weapon was produced.

His arrest came nine days after the incident, following a DNA match that linked him to the crime scene. The DNA sample was consistent with a sample Badran had previously provided to police during an unrelated theft investigation involving a foot pump. Badran pleaded guilty to the charges and was subsequently sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court. Detective Constable Shaun Egan described the attack as “horrendous,” emphasizing the lasting trauma inflicted on the young victim. He expressed relief that Badran was now behind bars, stating, “He led the girl to a very secluded area and I believe he had already chosen that spot and pre-planned how he would entice her there. I am sure he would have struck again had he not been caught.”

Given his criminal record and recent convictions, Badran now faces a minimum term of at least eight years and four months before he can be considered for parole, ensuring he remains incarcerated for a significant period to protect the public from further harm. The case has reignited concerns about the safety of children in Enfield and the effectiveness of measures to prevent repeat offenders from reoffending.
