According to reports presented at Maidstone Crown Court, Saleiro had admitted to committing a total of 12 sexual offences involving two young children.
His actions drew immediate condemnation from the public, with one witness shouting "Paedo scum" as he was taken into custody.
The court heard that when police confronted Saleiro, he responded with a chilling remark: "OK, I am here to pay for my crime," indicating a level of remorse or acknowledgment of his guilt.

His arrest and subsequent court appearance marked a significant step in addressing the serious allegations against him.
Judge David Griffith-Jones QC presided over the case and commended the resilience of the victims’ families, praising their display of grace throughout the proceedings.
The judge also imposed a lengthy sentence, initially handing Saleiro a 12-year prison term.
Additionally, he ordered a five-year extension to Saleiro’s licence period, which would be enforced if and when he is released from custody, ensuring continued supervision and protection for the victims.
As the case concluded, the judge expressed his best wishes to the victims, encouraging them to move forward with their lives despite the trauma they endured.
