ANTHONY SHEAF FROM ELTHAM SENTENCED TO JAIL FOR PREDATORY BEHAVIOR TOWARD TEENAGER

In July 2008, Anthony Sheaf, a 28-year-old former soldier from Eltham, was sentenced to 21 months in prison following a disturbing incident involving online predation. Sheaf had been actively searching social networking platforms with the intent of targeting a young girl, believing her to be only 14 years old.

The case revealed that Sheaf had approached a person he believed to be a teenage girl, requesting her to pose in her underwear. Unbeknownst to him, the individual was a cyberspace correspondent who was aware of his intentions and was acting as part of an investigation.
