WARREN MANNERS FROM ELTHAM SENTENCED FOR CHILD INDECENT IMAGES IN SHOCKING REVELATION

In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Eltham, Warren David Manners, aged 45, has been sentenced to a prison term after authorities uncovered a disturbing collection of indecent images of children within his residence. The incident, which unfolded in March 2023, has once again highlighted Manners' troubling history and his blatant disregard for legal restrictions.

On March 22, Metropolitan Police officers executed a search warrant at Manners' flat located in Sowerby Close, Eltham. The operation was prompted by ongoing investigations into his possession of illicit material. During the search, Manners initially denied owning any electronic devices such as phones, tablets, or laptops. However, the officers' thorough search revealed a total of 32 digital devices hidden throughout his flat, including within a cupboard secured with multiple locks, indicating an attempt to conceal the evidence.

The officers also discovered hundreds of still photographs depicting children, stored within the premises. Further examination of the seized devices confirmed that 21 of them contained indecent images of minors, a finding that significantly contributed to the severity of the case. Manners' possession of such material was particularly alarming given his prior criminal record and his status as a registered sex offender.

Warren Manners had previously been convicted of possessing indecent images of children, which led to him being subject to a sexual harm prevention order. This order explicitly prohibited him from possessing digital devices or any equipment that could access the internet without prior notification to a designated local authority. Despite these restrictions, Manners was found in possession of multiple devices containing illicit images.

Following the discovery, Manners was taken into custody and appeared before Bromley Magistrates’ Court on March 23. He pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children, one count of possession of indecent images, and three breaches of his sexual harm prevention order. His guilty plea resulted in his remand in custody, and subsequently, he was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison at Woolwich Crown Court in May 2023.

This case underscores the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in tackling the distribution and possession of child exploitation material, especially involving individuals with prior convictions.
