Anthony Roydhouse

Willerby Sexual Abuser

August 2017 Paedophile sex addict who lured children into sick web-cam sessions is jailed A sex-obsessed paedophile who convinced girls as young as 10 to expose themselves in online chatrooms has been jailed. Anthony Roydhouse, 47, of Victoria Avenue, Willerby, was rumbled when police found 11 video files saved to his personal laptop which contained indecent footage of young girls during one-on-one internet webcam sessions. One of the videos involved a girl, thought to be aged between 10 and 14, who pulled up her shirt. The defendant also abused two other girls aged 11 and 10 by getting them to expose themselves, with one of them dressed in her school uniform at the time of the recording. During a hearing at Hull Crown Court last month, Claire Holmes, prosecuting, said police officers went to Roydhouse’s home on April 6 last year where evidence was found of indecent footage being stored on his computers. She said: “At 6.45am on April 6, 2016, police officers attended his home address and spoke to this defendant. They seized his computer along with other items but nothing of concern was found on those items. “An examination of the laptop by a forensic examiner later revealed that there were six category C video files and five category B video files.” The 11 files were all created between October 7, 2015, and February 23, 2016, with police also discovering file-sharing software with a history of search terms, including ‘paedo’ and underage. Roydhouse initially denied all knowledge of the indecent material in his first police interview close to the time of his arrest. He was bailed but re-arrested for a second time in February earlier this year. During his second police interview, he confessed to having an addiction to sex and admitted responsibility for the videos found. Miss Holmes said: “He said he was responsible for the videos found and he said he had a sex addiction and problem for which he was receiving counselling. “He had been involved in camera to camera sessions on various chat forums and these included sessions with children.” Despite his confessions, Roydhouse was released on bail for a second times so police could investigate claims about the camera-to-camera sessions. On May 11, during his third police interview, he finally admitted to using a software called ‘Webcam and Screen Recorder’ to record camera to camera sessions he had had with young girls. Roydhouse pleaded guilty to five counts of inciting a girl between 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity, two counts of causing a child to watch or look at an image of sexual activity, and a further two counts of making an indecent photograph of a child. He was due to be sentenced at Hull Crown Court on July 16 but his case was adjourned so Judge Mark Bury could find out whether the young girls involved in Roydhouse’s lewd webcam sessions were being exploited for money. The defendant was subsequently released on unconditional bail but on August 7, the same judge sentenced him to 16 months in jail for his crimes at Grimsby Crown Court. July 2017 Sex obsessed paedophile made young girls strip in lewd webcam sessions A self-confessed sex addict lured teenage girls into exposing themselves in online chatrooms before recording them and saving them to his laptop. One of these videos involved a girl between the age of ten and 14 who pulled up her shirt to expose her breasts He abused two other girls, aged 11 and 10. Miss Holmes said: “He said he was responsible for the videos found and he said he had a sex addiction and problem for which he was receiving counselling. “He had been involved in camera to camera sessions on various chat forums and these included sessions with children.” When he came back for another interview on May 11, he admitted using a software called ‘Webcam and Screen Recorder’ to record camera to camera sessions he had had with people. The defendant later pleaded guilty to five counts of inciting a girl between 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity, two counts of causing a child to watch or look at an image of sexual activity, and a further two counts of making an indecent photograph of a child. Roydhouse was due to be sentenced at Hull Crown Court on Friday, but Judge Mark Bury was keen to know whether the children involved in the webcam sessions were being exploited for financial gain. “I don’t understand at the moment the degree of exploitation involved in this and I think it’s rather important,” he said. As a result, Roydhouse was released on unconditional bail with his sentencing adjourned until August 7 at Grimsby Crown Court.
