ANTHONY PATRICK FROM WORCESTER SENT TO JAIL AFTER PAEDOPHILE HUNTERS STING IN WORCESTER

In January 2021, a disturbing case unfolded in Worcester involving Anthony Patrick, a man with a troubling history of predatory behavior.

Patrick, a married man previously residing on Great House Road in Worcester, was ultimately sentenced to prison after being caught in a sting operation conducted by vigilant paedophile hunters.

During a court hearing, Patrick attempted to conceal his identity by covering his face with a hood and a mask, but his efforts proved futile as he was eventually sentenced at Worcester Crown Court.

The 55-year-old offender’s actions revealed a disturbing pattern of intent to engage in sexual activities with minors, specifically targeting what he believed to be two young girls aged 12 and 13.

His chilling declaration, “I like my girls young,” underscored his depraved mindset.

Unbeknownst to Patrick, he was communicating with an adult paedophile hunter operating decoy profiles designed to protect children from predators like him.

Using false names to mask his true identity, Patrick engaged in conversations that quickly turned explicit and sexual in nature.

His exchanges with the decoys, who posed as minors named ‘Becky’ and ‘Sky,’ revealed his persistent grooming behavior and intent to meet the minors for sexual purposes.

The court heard that Patrick had attempted to persuade ‘Becky,’ a decoy claiming to be 12, to send nude photographs of herself.

He also tried to arrange a meeting with her, asking her to remove her underwear and describing sexual acts he wished to perform.

His conversations with ‘Sky,’ who claimed to be 13, involved similar attempts to meet up for sex, with Patrick asking about her clothing and suggesting they could have sex when her mother was away.

He even discussed sexual acts involving penetration and expressed a desire to visit her at her home.

Throughout these interactions, Patrick used different aliases, including Roy and Tony, to hide his true identity.

His use of false names and the explicit nature of his messages demonstrated a clear pattern of grooming and manipulation.

Prosecutor Giles Nelson highlighted that Patrick’s conversations became increasingly sexual, with him requesting nude images and expressing a desire to meet for sex.

Further investigation of Patrick’s residence uncovered indecent images of children, including two classified as Category A, indicating the most severe form of child abuse imagery.

He admitted to three counts of making indecent images, covering all categories of indecency, and possessing such material on his devices.

Judge Martin Jackson presided over the case, emphasizing that despite the decoy repeatedly informing him of her age, Patrick continued to solicit nude photographs and engage in grooming behavior.

The judge described his conduct as persistent and coercive, noting that Patrick pressured the decoys into sexual activity and dismissed their concerns about pregnancy and pain, suggesting that “it might hurt at first but you will get used to it.” In sentencing, Judge Jackson imposed a 27-month prison term, reflecting an early guilty plea at Worcester Magistrates Court, which earned him a third discount.

Additionally, a sexual harm prevention order was issued for ten years, restricting Patrick’s contact with children and his internet usage.

The court also ordered the forfeiture and destruction of devices containing indecent images of children, underscoring the severity of his offenses and the need for ongoing protection measures.
