Febuary 2004 PAEDOPHILE BROUGHT FOREIGN BOY TO UK FOR ABUSE Anthony Edward Parish (63), jailed for three years yesterday, befriended the boy’s parents while holidaying on an island in the Indian Ocean more than 20 years ago. The couple, who had nine children, allowed Parish to take the 11-year-old son home and act as his guardian. Parish paid for his boarding school education but during holidays subjected him to sex assaults, Leicester Crown Court was told. The abuse stopped when the boy was 14 and refused to leave the school during holidays. Parish continued to finance his education until he sat his A-levels. After that the boy, now a successful businessman, had nothing more to do with Parish. Parish, a coach driver, of London Road, Coalville, admitted nine counts of indecently assaulting the boy between 1978 and 1980. He admitted having an indecent photo of the boy, and 10 other charges of possessing indecent pictures of other boys featured in magazines and books since 1988. Judge John Burgess banned Parish from working with children and ordered his details be kept on a sex offenders register for life.
