ANTHONY HULME JAILED FOR 22 YEARS IN CHESTER AFTER ABUSING CHILDREN IN THE 1980S

A man named Anthony Hulme has been sentenced to 22 years in prison after being convicted of sexually abusing four children over a period of several years. Hulme, aged 57 and residing on London Road in Nantwich, carried out the horrific acts during the 1980s, some of the victims as young as two years old. His conviction followed an eight-day trial at Chester Crown Court.

Hulme was found guilty of multiple charges, including two counts of gross indecency with a girl under 14, six counts of gross indecency with a boy under 14, a serious sexual offence involving a boy under 16, two counts of indecent assault on a boy under 16, and two counts of indecent assault on a boy under 14.

After the case concluded, Detective Sergeant Paul Nolan from Cheshire Police commented: 'Hulme subjected each of his victims to horrific abuse, both physically and sexually, over a long period of time when they were babies or young children.'

He added, 'It has taken great courage for them to disclose what happened and to go through the process to ensure justice was served.' Nolan emphasized the importance of the victims’ bravery, stating, 'The conviction and sentence is a testament to their bravery in coming forward and providing such difficult, upsetting, and harrowing evidence.'

Nolan concluded by expressing hope that this case provides the victims with some closure, saying, 'I hope it now provides them with a form of closure and although they will never forget what happened, they can begin a new chapter in their lives.'
