ANTHONY FORDHAM FROM CORBY SENTENCED IN NORTHAMPTON FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES AND ILLEGAL TATTOOS

In a case that has drawn significant attention in Northamptonshire, Anthony Fordham, a 24-year-old man originally from Corby, has been sentenced to prison after a series of serious breaches of court orders and convictions related to sexual misconduct and illegal tattooing activities.

Fordham, who previously resided on Eastbourne Avenue in Corby and is currently without a fixed address, was convicted in October 2015 on multiple charges. His convictions included one count of engaging in sexual activity with a young teenage girl and nine counts of tattooing minors under the age of 18 using a homemade tattooing kit. These actions raised alarm due to the illegal and potentially harmful nature of his activities, especially considering the age of his young victims.

Following his conviction, Fordham was initially sentenced to a three-year community order. This order mandated that he attend a sexual offenders’ rehabilitation program and complete 125 hours of unpaid community service. Despite these conditions, Fordham’s compliance was short-lived, and he failed to adhere to the terms of his community order.

Most recently, Fordham appeared before Northampton Crown Court on charges of breaching his sexual harm prevention order. The breach involved possessing two unregistered mobile phones, which was a violation of the court’s restrictions designed to limit his internet access and prevent further contact with minors. The order was specifically intended to restrict his ability to access online platforms and maintain unrestricted contact with young people.

Prosecutor Mary Loram highlighted that Fordham also neglected to inform probation services that he might come into unsupervised contact with a 15-year-old girl, who is the sister of his current 18-year-old girlfriend from Southampton. This failure to notify authorities further demonstrated his disregard for court-imposed restrictions.

Judge Michael Fowler, presiding over the case, expressed his concern over Fordham’s continued behavior and the threat he posed to young people. Given Fordham’s history and recent breaches, the judge stated that a custodial sentence was unavoidable. Fordham had already spent approximately seven months in remand awaiting trial.

Judge Fowler remarked, “It seems to me you possess a threat that’s been demonstrated by your behaviour to young people – and sadly you continue to be a threat.”

In addition to the breach of the sexual harm prevention order, Fordham’s failure to attend his unpaid work sessions and his limited participation in the sex offender program were also taken into account. He had only attended five out of the 32 scheduled sessions, further indicating his non-compliance.

Consequently, the court re-sentenced Fordham for his original convictions and the breach of the court order. The total sentence handed down was one year and six weeks in prison.

During the hearing, Roxanne Aisthorpe, representing Fordham, provided mitigating circumstances. She explained that Fordham, now 25, suffers from depression and was on medication that made it difficult for him to attend morning sessions with probation officers. She also noted that after becoming homeless, Fordham faced additional challenges in meeting all the requirements of his court order, which contributed to his non-compliance and difficulties in adhering to the conditions set by the court.
