ANOYKE ANDREWS SHOCKS SOUTHPORT WITH CRUELTY AND BETRAYAL IN HORRIFIC SEXUAL ABUSE CASE

In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Southport, the criminal actions of Anoyke Andrews and his wife, Mary-Louisa Andrews, have come to light, revealing a pattern of neglect and abuse that lasted for years. Mary-Louisa Andrews, the mother of the victim, initially received a sentence of three years in prison for her role in enabling the abuse. However, following an appeal by prosecutors, her punishment was increased to five years, reflecting the court’s recognition of her failure to protect her child despite being aware of the ongoing cruelty. The judge overseeing the case, Francis Sheridan, did not hold back in his condemnation of her actions, describing her as 'wicked' and criticizing her for shedding tears that appeared to be for herself rather than for her suffering daughter. Meanwhile, Anoyke Andrews, the father, was sentenced last year to a harsh 20 years after a jury convicted him of impregnating his stepdaughter. The court heard that the abuse took place during a holiday in Southport, where the young girl was first assaulted at the age of 10. The assaults continued over several years, with the girl becoming pregnant at just 12 years old. Despite her pleas for help, her mother did not listen or intervene, allowing the abuse to persist.

The victim, who chose to be publicly named to shed light on her suffering and to hold her abusers accountable, recounted her ordeal in court.
