ANDREW WHITE FROM LAMBETH SENTENCED TO 11 YEARS FOR SHOCKING SEXUAL ASSAULT IN LAMBETH
In a disturbing case that has shocked the Lambeth community, Andrew White, aged 33 and residing on Walworth Road SE1, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 11 years after being convicted of a heinous sexual assault. The incident, which took place at White's residence in Lambeth, involved the assault of a woman who was asleep at the time, leading to a criminal investigation that uncovered disturbing details.According to court records and police reports, the assault occurred on the night of June 18, 2022. The victim, a woman in her 30s, was sleeping at her address when she suddenly awoke to find White in her room. She reported that White's genitals were exposed, and her trousers had been pulled down, indicating a sexual assault. The woman described feeling terrified and vulnerable as she tried to distance herself from White. However, her attempt to escape was met with further violence when White allegedly placed his hands around her neck in a chokehold, an act that added a layer of physical threat to the assault.
Police responded swiftly to the scene at approximately 21:53 hours after the victim reported the incident. During the subsequent investigation, officers from the Central South Command Unit conducted a thorough search of White and found him in possession of cannabis, a Class B drug. White was taken into custody immediately and denied the allegations made against him. Despite his denials, the evidence collected by detectives, including witness testimonies, video footage, and forensic analysis, was compelling enough to secure a conviction.
White was formally charged on June 19, 2022, and was remanded in custody pending trial. The case was prosecuted with the support of specialized detectives focusing on sexual offences, who meticulously gathered evidence to establish White's guilt. The trial concluded with White being found guilty of one count of rape, one count of non-fatal strangulation, and possession of a Class B drug. On Monday, July 31, at Inner London Crown Court, White was sentenced to 11 years in prison, a punishment reflecting the severity of his crimes and the impact on the victim.
This case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to address sexual violence and protect victims within the Lambeth area. The community is urged to remain vigilant and report any incidents of concern to authorities, ensuring that offenders are brought to justice and that safety is maintained for all residents.
