A man from Amesbury has admitted to asking a teenage girl, who was actually an undercover paedophile hunter, to touch his ‘sausage’ and could face imprisonment.
Andrew Stevens was caught by paedophile hunters at his home in Abbey Square on the evening of June 11 last year.
During their visit, he engaged in conversation with the group, which was live-streaming the encounter on Facebook while police were en route.
Stevens, aged 55, claimed he was joking during the exchange but also admitted to believing he was talking to a 14-year-old girl online for sexual purposes.
He explained, “I was only having a bit of a laugh and a joke,” and added, “I thought she would like to have a bit of fun about things… we sometimes get carried away saying things we shouldn’t say.” Court records detail that Stevens had asked the decoy girl to come to his home and get into his bed, and to touch his ‘sausage’.
He also inquired about the girl’s ‘little red cherries’, indicating further inappropriate language.
On September 12, at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court, he pleaded guilty to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a minor for sexual gratification.
A pre-sentence report was ordered, and Stevens was released on unconditional bail until his sentencing on November 21.
