ANDREW ROBSON INVERNESS TEACHER JAILED FOR SEX ACT IN FRONT OF 12-YEAR-OLD GIRL
In a disturbing incident that has shocked the community of Inverness, Andrew Robson, a 34-year-old primary school teacher, was sentenced to a year in prison after he committed a sexual act in front of a young girl.The incident took place in November of the previous year and has led to significant legal repercussions for Robson, who has since resigned from his teaching position.
Robson, who was working as a visiting music teacher in Ross and Cromarty at the time, appeared before Inverness Sheriff Court to face charges related to his misconduct.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of breach of the peace, which included the disturbing incident involving the 12-year-old girl.
The court was informed that Robson’s actions caused the girl considerable emotional distress, reducing her to tears when he stopped his car and stared at her while engaging in masturbation in full view of her.
The court proceedings revealed that the incident occurred on the 11th of November, as the young girl was walking to Inverness High School.
It was emphasized that Robson did not have any official connection to the school itself.
The depute fiscal, Ian Smith, described the scene, stating, “She saw the accused in the driver’s side of a parked car.
His trousers and underclothing were pulled down, and he was masturbating.
Anyone walking past the car would have seen what he was doing.” Following the incident, the police were alerted, and the girl provided a description of the suspect.
Despite the severity of the act, Robson managed to evade immediate detection.
It was only four days later that police identified him after two women, aged 18 and 20, reported feeling alarmed when Robson persistently followed them around Inverness late at night in his vehicle.
This behavior raised further concerns about his conduct.
Robson’s legal representative, Marc Dickson, explained that his client was under significant stress at the time, citing his responsibilities in organizing eight different Christmas concerts across various schools.
Despite this context, the sheriff, David Sutherland, emphasized the gravity of Robson’s actions, stating that he had caused “extreme distress” to his victims, especially the young girl.
The sheriff also noted that Robson could not be placed on the sex offenders’ register because the charges were classified as breach of the peace, not sexual offenses.
