ANDREW RIMINGTON FROM DROITWICH CAUGHT IN CHILD ABUSE STING AT SHOWELL CLOSE

In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Droitwich, a former school laboratory technician named Andrew Rimington has been implicated in a serious child abuse investigation. The incident came to light during a police operation aimed at uncovering individuals involved in online child exploitation.

According to reports, Rimington, aged 66 and residing on Showell Close in Droitwich, was caught in an undercover police sting that targeted suspected paedophiles operating on the internet. The police investigation, part of the broader Operation Safenet, was designed to identify and apprehend individuals attempting to engage in illegal activities involving minors.

Rimington’s offending took place over a period from December 2 to December 12 of the previous year. During this time, he was found to have incited a girl, aged between 13 and 15, to engage in sexual activity. The details of the case were presented at Hereford Crown Court, where Rimington admitted to the charges. As a result, he was sentenced to a 12-month community order, which includes a requirement to participate in a 35-day rehabilitation activity program.

The headteacher of the school where Rimington previously worked expressed her horror at the revelations. She emphasized that no pupils at her school were targeted or involved in the incident, offering reassurance to concerned parents and guardians. Her statement underscored the importance of community vigilance and the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to protect children from exploitation.

In a related case, another individual from Droitwich, David Jackson, aged 48 and residing on Blackfriars Avenue, was also involved in serious offences. Jackson attempted to incite a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity between May 8 and May 12 of this year. He also admitted to four counts of attempting to facilitate sexual offences, as well as possessing and distributing indecent images of children. These images, categorized as Category B, were sent to an undercover police officer, with the offences spanning from September 1 of the previous year to June 9 of the current year. Jackson’s actions further highlight the ongoing efforts by authorities to combat child exploitation and bring offenders to justice.
