ANDREW PRESCOTT FROM CARLISLE JAILED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES INVOLVING 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL
In a case that has shocked the community of Carlisle, Andrew Prescott, aged 22, has been sentenced to four years in prison after being found guilty of engaging in repeated sexual activities with a 14-year-old girl. The incident came to light during a court hearing at Carlisle Crown Court, where details of Prescott’s misconduct were laid bare.
According to court reports, Prescott was visited at his residence in Dixon Court, Shaddongate, by the young girl, who was still dressed in her school uniform at the time.
The court heard that over a span of two weeks, Prescott and the girl engaged in sexual encounters, during which Prescott transmitted a sexually transmitted disease to her.
Prescott admitted to four counts of sexual activity with a child, which led to his appearance before Judge Paul Batty QC for sentencing.
Prosecutor Tim Evans provided a detailed account of the girl’s initial meeting with Prescott.
She had encountered Prescott and her friends in a local park before attending a party at Prescott’s flat.
During that night, the girl and Prescott engaged in sexual activity in the bathroom of his flat, and she spent the night there.
Evans explained that the girl considered Prescott to be her boyfriend, and she would often leave school, go home, and then visit Prescott’s flat at around 5 pm.
It was also revealed that Prescott was fully aware of her age, and on several occasions, she attended his flat while still in her school uniform, indicating a level of familiarity and intent.
In mitigation, Prescott’s legal representative, Claire Thomas, expressed that Prescott regretted his actions and accepted full responsibility for his conduct.
She emphasized that Prescott was remorseful for his involvement in the case.
Judge Batty did not hold back in his sentencing remarks.
He stated, “You perfectly well knew she was a schoolgirl and you knew she was that age.
You are, in my judgement, a sexual predator.” As part of his sentence, Prescott was banned from working with children for the rest of his life and was also placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register permanently, marking a severe consequence for his actions and a warning to others about the seriousness of such offenses in Carlisle.
